About the Project:
We are pleased to be recruiting a Senior Supply Chain Specialist who is passionate about achieving transformative change. We are looking for an energetic self-starter who is able to work independently alongside the government’s warehouse team
We welcome applications from senior supply chain specialists who have strong experience in supply chain management operations and the training and mentoring of supply chain professionals as well as extensive knowledge of delivering end to end supply chains in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be working on the supply chain component of the Saving Lives programme, funded by DFID. The aim of this programme is to support the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) to reduce maternal, neonatal and under-5 mortality and morbidity by increasing utilisation of quality Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) services. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist will be an experienced supply chain professional with extensive experience working with governments to improve their supply chain processes and develop systems and personnel.
· Serve as the primary point of contact within the National Medical Supply Agency (NMSA)
· Directly mentor and support the quantification team in the NMSA leadership structure
· Once established, contribute to the creation of new Standard Operative Procedures required to strengthen the new warehouse and logistics operations to ensure the NMSA is fully operational
· Executive coaching to the DDMS, newly formed NMSA senior management (when in post) and sr. level management teams, develop professional development curriculum, review and refine current management standards and KPIs
· Give guidance on improvements to all elements of NMSA’s supply chain
· Maintain key relationships and coordinate with the GoSL, DFID, UN, Montrose and IRC
You need to have:
· 5-10 years of experience, with 2+ years in managing warehouse operations. management systems. Experience in the use of msupply would be beneficial. Understanding of warehousing in resource constrained environments.
· Over a decade of experience in organisational transformation and supply chain consultancy within healthcare organisations in low and middle-income settings
· Requires demonstrated success in mentorship for capacity-building, understanding of the management systems required to improve and sustain performance, ability to foster effective collaboration and coordination within interdisciplinary teams
· Demonstrated results in improving supply chain processes
· Awareness of the WHO Essential Medicines (Formulary) and National Drug Policies and awareness of MHRA licencing requirements
· Policy development and preparing technical documents & Private sector supply chain
· Previous work experience in Sierra Leone
