ActionAid are currently recruiting for a Senior Donor and Compliance Specialist to work within their International Development Policy and Practice team.
ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are working to promote a world where women and girls are valued, their voices are heard, they live free from violence and can exercise their economic rights. We won’t stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.
This is a fundamental role within ActionAid UK and the post holder will take the lead on contractual and compliance requirements for ActionAid UK’s current and prospective institutional donors.
The post holder will be a key member of both the Business Development team and the Programme Quality and Assurance team and will be responsible for embedding strong donor compliance practices within both teams’ ways of working.
The Senior Donor and Compliance Specialist will ensure that there is continuity throughout each stage of the process, from proposal stage to implementation stage. This will involve ensuring that the donor’s compliance requirements are well understood, that proposals are compliant and that start up and grant implementation is well managed.
We will look to you to advise the senior management team and other stakeholders on risk management and mitigation. You will also advise on emerging financial, contractual and compliance changes. In order to succeed in this role, you must have the ability to build a rapport with and to work well with senior members of staff across the organisation.
You must also have the ability to gain the trust of the Senior Leadership Team whilst you are developing and rolling out policies, systems and processes across the organisation.
We are keen to receive applications from those with a strong contracting and compliance acumen, along with a thorough and comprehensive understanding of a range of donor requirements, in particular compliance with financial and contractual regulations.
To be considered for this role, applicants must have significant experience of contract financial and compliance management, in particular for large and complex projects.
You must also have significant experience of commercial and grant contracting modalities and demonstrable experience of developing tools, policies and guidance, and establishing new ways of working.
If you have all of this along with solid negotiation skills, a spirit of collaboration and a desire to play a key role in helping ActionAid UK to deliver on its 5-year Strategy- *Together with women and girls,* then we are keen to receive your application.
ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working. We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.
ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.
Interviews will take place on the 11th and the 13th of December.
